It depends. Instead of counting the cans you own, count the number of liquids you plan to carry. You will want to buy one accessory nozzle or spigot per type of liquid you plan to transport and only ever use that accessory for that type of liquid. The nozzles (or spigot) can easily be moved between each RockitCan carrying the same liquid.
The RockitCan Utility and Hydro can be used to transport all types of liquids and chemicals. See full compatibility charts in the KNOW YOUR VESSEL Section.
Only the RockitCan: Hydro and Hydro Spigot are made of FDA approved food grade materials and can be used for storing drinking water or other consumable liquids, but, as such requires routine cleaning and sterilization procedures to ensure clean and safe conditions for human consumption of the contents.
Do not use any other RockitCan models or accessories for handling water you plan to drink.
CONTENT DISCLAIMER:
While the Utility and Hydro RockitCan is manufactured of highly chemical resistant materials that are compatible with a large range of liquids (see chemical compatibility charts), none of the RockitCan products have been formally tested, nor have any RocitCan products been approved for use with any fuel product by the EPA, CARB, OSHA, DOT or any other federal, state or local regulatory authority. Therefore, the Utility and Hydro RockitCans are not portable fuel containers as described by ASTM, EPA, ARB and other official agencies. Additionally, RockitCan products are not sold with any current consumer safety devices like flame mitigation devices (FMD) that can reduce the chance of accidental fires, explosions, and injury to the user.
Your use of utility jugs as fuel containers ("gas cans") may violate the law of your state. Please check your own state law for the legal requirements pertaining to the use of any canister as a portable fuel container. It is the responsibility of the user of RockitCan products to ensure that their use is safe and compliant with any and all relevant regulations.
The Utility RockitCan's Intended uses include the storage and transport of feed, water, attractants, fluids and other outdoor products. Additional uses include transport, storage, and proper disposal of automotive and construction fluids such as antifreeze, engine oil, gear oils, hydraulic fluid, and transmission fluid.
The Utility RockitCan is not intended for storing drinking water.
The Hydro RockitCan is made of FDA compliant food grade materials and can be used for storing drinking water or other consumable liquids, but, as such requires routine cleaning and sterilization procedures to ensure clean and safe conditions for human consumption of the contents.
We get it. You like to know how things tick. Still, we do not recommend that the canister be disassembled as this can introduce leaks and possibly void your warranty. If something doesn’t work right, let us know and we’ll walk you through what to do to make it right.
Liquids are tricky mistresses. We pride RockitCan on being hyper leak resistant but there are two instances in which you could coax fluid to leak from it.
If the vent is open prior to tipping the can into the horizontal “touch down” position a very small amount of fluid (maybe a tablespoon) could escape. To prevent this, always make sure the vent is closed while in the vertical “take off” position, rotate the can to its horizontal position, and wait 2 seconds for the liquid to settle before opening the vent.
Always close the vent plug prior to filling. If you forget, close the vent plug, rotate to the horizontal “evacuation” position, then count to 5 before proceeding. This will empty the vent system safely into the can.
